Your body is your vehicle
Just as smart people see challenges not in the way of achieving their goals but as opportunities on the way to greater things, take a minute and think about how your body is the vehicle which will take you to new heights. The more you start seeing your body as the greatest tool for playing a bigger game, the more you start seeing your body as on your way to reaching your dreams, not in your way. Too many times do I hear people say “I should go to the gym” or “I should really make an effort to eat healthy” or “It’s so hard to stay fit”. These people see their body as in their way, it takes too much effort to take care of it. However, when you switch that around and start thinking about your body as the greatest tool which will take you from where you are right now to where you want to be, you start paying attention to how well you take care of your body. Taking care of your body becomes something which is a natural part of how well you play your bigger game.
Stop instant gratification
Your body is the body you’ve got, you don’t have an Internet site where you can buy a new one (just yet). Just like a garden, if you don’t take care of it now, later on you will have a lot of weed growing in it, which will be a pain to get rid of. Start thinking more long-term and stop instant gratification. The quick fix might make you feel good RIGHT NOW, but it won’t make you feel good in the long run. A lot of things we do to our body today will not show their effects until later in life. Don’t think you’re immortal. Do you keep choosing instant gratification over long-term well-being?
When you value yourself, you take care of it. When you value yourself you automatically make the effort to take care of your body, and you enjoy it because you know how important your body is to you. When you realize your body is the greatest vehicle you have handy to take you from where you are right now to where you want to be, there is no way you will forgo it. When you don’t value yourself you fill your body with stimulants, when you value yourself you fill your body with nutrients. There is a huge difference in energy levels! You know already how much you value yourself, but did you think about the fact that everyone else can very easily see how much you value yourself as well… Now I don’t know about you, but if I was to invest my money or time in people and their services, I’d choose to invest in those who I can see value themselves. You deserve to value yourself, you’re brilliant, now start showing up in the world valuing yourself even more!
Just stop whatever is not serving you and move in the direction of your dreams!
Your self-worth has nothing to do with your craft or calling, and everything to do with how you treat yourself. – Kris Carr
