I’ve noticed, that the more I give myself permission to be a feminine woman, letting go of trying to be both the lead and to be led in this dance we call life, the more I find myself enjoying life.
I had the pleasure of sharing my Friday night with a group of aesthetic women. Everyone with such a beautiful and strong passion for femininity and leadership, in a totally non-feminist way. The passion was to show up in the world as a leader to look up to; in a way where we do not loose our femininity. There was an idea shared I greatly enjoyed, which was that when a woman leads from a place of love, her leadership can move nations. Femininity is a powerful force, much greater than many give it credit for, but it is not until we allow ourselves to own that feminine force and let go of trying to be masculine, that we can use it to reach the goals we create.
When I dance salsa with men who know how to lead and who show the woman they dance with the direction, the dance feels easy and it allows me to feel free and be me. It allows me to let go of trying to direct and instead just be the dance. The more I am able to feel the man’s lead on the dance floor, the more beautiful our dance becomes.
Just as when dancing salsa, if you try to be both the lead and to be led in this thing called life, the dance will end up very messy. Take on one of the roles and own it, if you decide to carry both roles it will get very heavy eventually.
Femininity is not weak, it is an extremely strong force but not until you choose to own it and to be it.
The woman’s mission is not to enhance the masculine spirit, but to express the feminine; hers is not to preserve a man-made world, but to create a human world by the infusion of the feminine element into all of its activities. – Margaret Thatcher
