Do you feel like smiling when you do what you do? Do you feel that every time you discover how you can do what you do even better, it inspires you to continue doing what you do? And you’re loving finding the subtleties that make you greater and greater at what you do? The more you sharpen your sword – the more it makes you love what you do. And the more you love what you, the bigger of course your smile is when you walk into a room and do your thing.
Until now I haven’t blogged about my day job or written about what I do in the Mon-Fri, 9-5 world. But today I really feel like sharing this with you. I do cloud business software consulting, and I love it! For a few different reasons, I’ll explain one of them now.
That feeling of solving someone’s problem, that lightness you hear in their voice when you show them how, what you have to offer can make their life easier, it’s gold! It might be as small as showing them how to populate the right kind of report, it doesn’t matter how small it is, what matters is the lightness in their voice. I’ve added value to their day, maybe even the year to come. I’ve taken away something that they felt was heavy and something they couldn’t get rid of easily on their own. I’ve replaced it with an easy solution that provides them with the outcome they want.
It makes me smile. It gives me energy. It makes me want to do it over and over again. That’s the feeling I believe you should have when you do what you do. If you don’t, then maybe stop for a while and revisit why you’re not feeling that way and decide on an action that will take you a step closer to feeling that way.
Your job does not define you, but it will define how You feel, and how you feel will be picked up by people around you. So how can you best make sure that what you do makes you feel You? How can you best make sure that people around you pick up the pure you? That they’re not picking up a layer existing because you’re doing something that does not align with what makes you smile that big pure smile?
Over to you. How can you be the most beautiful you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Decide to do what puts that big pure smile on your lips. Find the things that bring out your true smile and add them to your day, your week, your month, your year and life. One by one, one way or another.
