Last weekend I tried something new. I was invited to join my girlfriend for a personal success seminar over the weekend. She had won the tickets so I got the seminar for free.
During the seminar we discussed a lot of relevant topics around how people falsely perceive who they are and what they are capable of doing, and where these perceptions originate from. I was introduced to a 5 step pyramid to success. The first step, which is the base, that determine everything else, is your environment. The people YOU choose to have in your environment determine what you believe you can do. They determine how well you take care of yourself. They determine what you choose to spend your time on. They determine what kind of relationship you’re in. They even determine how much you earn.
Look at the 5 people you spend most of your time with, who influence you the most. You are the average of these 5 people. The average of them in all areas of your life.
I’ve already noticed how easy it is to make the first step of the pyramid work for me. The more people I choose to include to the close circle around me that represent the life I want to live and the person I want to be, the more my life turns into how I want it to be and I turn into the person I want to be. It’s not necessarily a quick process. For me it has taken over 6 months already and I’m still building up my environment as a constant process. However, once you get moving on it, things start all of a sudden falling into place.
You cannot soar with eagles when you’re running with ducks! Choose the environment you want and you deserve and the rest will feel so much easier.
